  • Dedication for the state’s largest and the nation’s fifth largest wind power project will be held May 14, 2004. The 162-megawatt Colorado Green Wind project, located about 20 minutes south of Lamar, has 108 turbines spanning over 11,840 acres

  • Bill and Linda Trosper, Eads, have been recognized nationally by the American Angus Association for having one registered Angus cow included in the American Angus Association 1994 Pathfinder Report.
  • Greeley Gas increases rates by 6.88% in Colorado.
  • Wild Horse News-Curtis Schrimp: The Kit Carson Wind Ensemble took first place honor for class A schools at the Cavalcade of Music.

  • Mrs. Terry Bumann and Mrs. Victor Vishnevsky, both of Sheridan Lake, have been instrumental in the organization of the Plainview Women’s Softball team.
  • Crow’s Stop & Shop has taken on a new look over the past week. All new metal shelving throughout the store replaced the outmoded, antiqued, wooden shelves which have been in the store since established.
  • Sheridan Lake Ripples-Mrs. Oren White: J.D. Wilson went to check his wheat field south of Brandon. He saw and killed three rattlesnakes on the road south of Brandon. They were about 2.5 feet long.

  • As the result of a public hearing at the courthouse meeting room, a recreation district will be formed in the east end of Kiowa County for citizens of the Towner community.
  • Towner News: Towner is without a grocery store for the first time since the 1800’s.
