The Regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order on April 14, 2022; at 9:10 a.m. by Chairman Donald Oswald. Commissioner Lening opened the meeting with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in Attendance

Colorado law requires the county assessor to hear objections to real property classifications and valuations beginning May 2, 2022.
Objections to the valuation or classification of real property must be postmarked, delivered, or presented in person to the county assessor’s office no later than June 1, 2022.
Colorado law requires the county assessor to begin hearing objections to personal property valuations no later than June 15, 2022.

August 25, 1949 - April 26, 2022
Jane Louise “Janie” Swopes, 72, of Winfield, Kansas, passed April 26, 2022, at her residence.
Born August 25, 1949, in Lamar, she was the daughter of Roy and Alma (Downs) Robertson. Janie was raised and received her education in Eads, graduating from Eads High School in 1968.
