The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic presents a rapidly changing situation that Kiowa County Hospital District (KCHD) AKA Weisbrod Memorial County Hospital is just as rapidly responding to. Community response to a global epidemic takes a village. We are in frequent contact with Kiowa County Public Health, Prairie Pines, Kiowa County Ambulance Services, and all our staff.

President Trump signs $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus package

President Donald Trump signed a $2 trillion coronavirus stimulus bill Friday just hours after it passed in the House, making law out of a package that will send billions of dollars directly to Americans and provide hundreds of billions more for businesses, health care systems and others impacted by the pandemic that has crippled the economy.

It is by far the largest relief package in the nation's history.

Kiowa County Commissioners special meeting minutes – March 13, 2020

The Kiowa County Commissioners Special Meeting was called to order at 1:06 p.m. on March 13, 2020 by Chairman Richard Scott. Those in attendance for the Special Meeting were:

  • Richard Scott, Chairman
  • Howard “Butch” Robertson, Commissioner
  • Donald Oswald, Commissioner
  • Tina Adamson, County Administrator

Administrator Adamson brought concerns regarding the duties in her office.  This was discussed and suggestions were made to look for training in different areas for new staff.

Kit Carson School COVID-19 Update

Kit Carson Parents and Community,

March 30 is approaching fast and your professional educators are hard at work developing lesson plans that will include eLearning.

These lesson plans may include Zoom meetings, online curriculum, using our Microsoft 365 system, email, online programs, DOJO, and other needed materials to make this situation as smooth as possible.

Please remember these are new times for your teachers too. There will be some trial and error, but if doctors get to practice medicine, we can practice until we get it right too.

Kiowa County Commissioners meeting minutes March 12, 2020

The Kiowa County Commissioner’s meeting was called to order on March 12, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Scott. Oswald opened the meeting with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in attendance:

  • Richard Scott, Chairman
  • Donald Oswald, Commissioner
  • Howard “Butch” Robertson, Commissioner
  • Delisa Weeks, County Clerk
  • Tina Adamson, County Administrator

Oswald moved and Robertson seconded the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.
