The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on December 4, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Hospital Meeting Room.

District Board members present were: Mary Eikner, Cathryn Anderson, Sylvia Shields and Priscilla Waggoner. 

County Board members present were: Dennis Pearson and Craig Kerfoot. 

Others present: Shannon Dixon, Char Korrell and Ellen Lane. 

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by Priscilla Waggoner, Chairman of the Board at 4:05 pm. 

STATE BOARD OF STOCK INSPECTION COMMISSIONERS - for a term expiring May 1, 2022: 

Erik Mohrlang of Fort Morgan, Colorado, to represent the confinement cattle industry, appointed. 

UNDERGROUND DAMAGE PREVENTION SAFETY COMMISSION - for terms expiring January 1, 2020: 

Christopher Kampmann of Firestone, Colorado, to serve as a representative of municipalities, appointed; 

James Moody of Denver, Colorado, to serve as a representative of contractors, appointed; 

With numerous changes in tax laws, the IRS is offering payment options to help taxpayers.

Youth 18 and under can learn the correct way to hunt turkeys from Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Middle and high school students can learn about vinyl cutting, 3-D printing, laser cutting and sewing at Lamar Community College in Prowers County, Colorado.

District Board members present were: Mary Eikner, Cathryn Anderson, Sylvia Shields and Priscilla Waggoner. 

County Board members present were: Dennis Pearson, John Negley, Ken Flory and Craig Kerfoot. 

Others present: Shannon Dixon, Char Korrell, Cindy McLoud, Ellen Lane, and Beth Spady.

Driving conditions across Colorado, particularly in the southeast, will be dangerous throughout the day as a winter storm blows through the state.

The Colorado Department of Transportation had 451 snow plows working to clear roads as of 8:30 a.m. Saturday.  Southeast Colorado roads were icy, with blowing snow reducing visibility. Traffic cameras throughout the area showed snow accumulation on highway surfaces, though few closures have been reported.
