A winter storm watch in southeast Colorado has been upgraded to a warning for several counties, including Kiowa County.
Three to six inches of heavy snow is expected through the end of the warning at noon Saturday, with some areas potentially receiving more. Winds are expected to gust up to 55 miles per hour.
Update: the winter weather advisory for northeast and western Colorado expanded to eastern Colorado along the Interstate 25 corridor. The map of southeast Colorado shown below has been revised.
Snow will be returning to large portions of Colorado Friday, with advisories, watches and warning issued for numerous areas.

Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site (NHS) Acting Superintendent Janet Frederick has announced the temporary closure of the Monument Hill Overlook and areas immediately surrounding the overlook. “As part of the long-range management improvements to the park, the Monument Hill area is being rehabilitated. to assure safety and accessibility to all visitors.” said Frederick.
