Sand Creek Site Switches to Summer Schedule, Open Seven Days Per Week

The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site will switch to its summer schedule beginning Saturday, April 1, 2017.  The park will open daily from 9 am to 4 pm, seven days a week.  This schedule will remain in effect through November 30, 2017.

The park will remain open for all three summer federal holidays – Memorial Day (May 29th), Fourth of July (July 4th), and the Labor Day (September 4th).

Bennet Office to Hold Military Service Information Days

Sessions Provide Information for Students with Military Service Aspirations

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet encourages students to learn more about attending U.S. service academies.

In April and May, Bennet’s office, in coordination with the Colorado congressional delegation, will host information sessions in Colorado for students interested in attending one of the five service academies. 

The sessions will offer information about the nomination and application processes for service academies. The events are free and open to the public.

​Three Arrests Made in Child Sexual Assault

Multiple arrests have been made involving the alleged sexual assault of an 8-year-old South Fork girl dating back to late 2015. 

In November 2016, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was requested by South Fork Police Chief Don McDonald to assist with a complex sexual assault investigation. Following an extensive investigation by the CBI and the South Fork Police Department, three arrests have been made involving incidents of sexual assault against a child.
