Help Keep Young Wildlife Wild this Spring in Colorado

With spring appearing in every corner of Colorado, residents and visitors will soon see an abundance of new life, including young wildlife. Many birds and mammals give birth this time of year, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife advises that if you see young wildlife to leave them alone. 

Now through June, newborn wildlife may be found in backyards, along trails, open spaces or in some rare instances in parking lots.

Industry Stages Event to Introduce Girls to Opportunities in Manufacturing

Last year, three organizations, the Manufacturing Institute, Deloitte, and APICS, conducted a survey of executives in the Manufacturing Industry to gauge the success they were having in attracting and retaining women and what could be done to inspire a new generation of young women with an interest and aptitude in manufacturing.

Oil & Gas Lease Auction Includes 59,000 Acres in Western Colorado

The Bureau of Land Management plans to offer nearly 59,000 acres of land in Colorado at an upcoming oil and gas lease auction.

The lease sale, set for June 7, includes 64 parcels located in Jackson, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt counties in the northeast corner of the state. Bidding begins at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time at www.energynet.com.

The BLM is accepting public protests regarding the auction through April 30, which can be submitted to the BLM Colorado State Office, 2850 Youngfield Street, Lakewood, CO 80215.

LCC Spring Horse Show Set for April 27

The Lamar Community College Horse Training & Management (HTM) and Equine Business Management (EBM) programs will host their annual Spring Show on Friday, April 27.

The show will be held in the Equine Complex, just north of College Road in Lamar, starting at 10:30am that morning.  The community is invited to attend and help celebrate the accomplishments of LCC freshman in the HTM and EBM programs.
