The nationwide "If You See Something, Say Something" public awareness campaign was created to raise public awareness of indicators of terrorism and terrorism-related crime, and to emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious activity to the proper local law enforcement authorities.

Drought conditions greatly reduce the available forage for livestock. They also impact forage and rangeland production across the state. Short and long-term ramifications will continue to affect the management of livestock. Livestock have been sold or relocated out of state in record numbers; however, there are alternatives for the remaining population. 

Lamar Community College’s Beta Eta Gamma chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society welcomed 30 new members in an induction ceremony on March 26, 2018.  This is one of the largest classes of new members, as the Chapter celebrates its twentieth year at LCC.  

Jane Anne Lujan passed away April 16, 2018, at the age of 64. 

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 40 years, Kelly; her children, Amber (John) Carpenter, and Amanda (Matthew) Cuneo, and her five grandchildren, Evan, Cole, Cameron, Knox, and Violet. She will also be forever remembered by her three sisters, two brothers, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Herbert F. Koester

April 18, 1921 - April 9, 2018 

Herbert F. Koester passed away April 9, 2018, at age 96. 

He was the beloved husband of 70 wonderful years to Marie G. (nee Remes); loving father of Janet (Danny) Richards, David (Pam) Koester, and Gary (Lisa) Koester; grandfather of Neil, Braden, Denise, Dan, Valerie, Nicole, and Darren; dear great-grandfather of 21; great-great-grandfather of six; brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend.
