Fire Warning for Southern Colorado Tuesday – Snow Closes the Week

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for the fire danger in southern Colorado Tuesday.

The warning takes effect at 10:00 a.m. for Fremont, Custer, Pueblo and Huerfano counties, along with most of El Paso, western Las Animas, and smaller portions of eastern Costilla, Alamosa and Saguache counties.

Caution should be used with outdoor activities that could spark a fire as west winds gust as high as 35 miles per hour. Humidity is expected to fall below 10 percent while temperatures reach the low 70s.

East End Events

Jerry Weber is in the hospital in Denver. His address is: St. Joseph's Hospital - 1375 E. 19th Ave. - Room 5313 - Denver, CO 80218. I'm sure he would enjoy cards from everyone. Hope you're better soon and back home, Jerry.

My Mom fell last Wednesday and was in the hospital overnight for observation. She is back at the Legacy and feeling better. She sure has lots of shades of purple on the left side of her face and eye. I told her she could start a new fad for eye shadow. She didn't think so!!

Home Country - Squirrel-y business

It might have been the winter doldrums that did it. You can never be sure of these things. It’s just that … well, Doc is one of those guys who can’t stand to see anyone bored. He claims it’s bad for their inner chemistry, and since he has more initials after his name than anyone else in town, we tend to listen to him.

When it happened, we in the inner circle of the World Dilemma Think Tank down at the Mule Barn truck stop thought back on what Doc had said a year ago when the temperature dropped, along with everyone’s spirits.
