Delbert McLain came by to have coffee with us the other day. He’s our chamber of commerce, you know. Delbert’s mission inn life seems to be to promote our little valley into becoming so important and prosperous that we won’t want to live here anymore.
But he does try hard, and we admire that.
“Got an idea, guys,” he said. He swept his necktie out of the way so he wouldn’t accidentally butter it. “A contest.”
“Like the knife-sharpening contest you thought up, Del?”

Gardner Reopens Committee Fill Colorado Judicial Vacancy
Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) has announced an additional opportunity to apply for the vacancy on the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, one of the busiest courts in the country with more than 500 weighted cases per judgeship. The number of judgeships on the court – seven – has remained the same for over 30 years, despite the state’s population growing by more than 70 percent and judicial workload remaining well above the national average.
