* Colorado Corn Executive Coordinator Ann Cross, appointed to serve on the NCGA Engaging Members Committee
Colorado Parks and Wildlife advises residents to rush for the gold — and red, yellow, orange and brown — in one of Colorado’s 42 state parks this month. Fall is officially here and Colorado state parks provide some of the Centennial State’s best showcases for changing nature.
Fall means dramatic changes to aspen trees, blooming saffron crocuses and unique animal mating rituals such as elk bugling, all of which are accessible in Colorado state parks.

One of our most popular features from the past 15 years - a full-page color photo on the front of the Kiowa County Press showing various impressions of life in Kiowa County. While a limited number of copies continue to be printed and distributed each week at Kiowa Healthmart, COOP C-Store in Eads, Haswell Propane, and Thunderbird Petroleum, we wanted to bring this feature to our online readers as well.

ELECTION NEWS:
The WATER Act, H.R. 4220, sponsored by Rep. Ken Buck (CO-04), was marked up and voted out of committee by the House Ways and Means Committee. The WATER Act Allows mutual water storage and delivery companies to maintain their non-profit status, even if they receive more than 15% of their revenue from non-members, so long as the monies are reinvested into maintenance, operations, and infrastructure improvements.
