Tree (Jessica Rothe) is having an unhappy birthday. She wakes up in the bed of a stranger named Carter (Israel Broussard). Carter’s roommate says something disrespectful. She gets hassled by an environmentalist. She’s being stalked by an ex. She lives in a sorority house run by a judgmental bully. She’s annoyed by her own roommate (Ruby Modine) and throws the special cupcake she made into the trash. She’s late for class, but she’s off the hook because she’s having an affair with the married professor.

The two main causes of high winds in Colorado during the cold season are the air pressure difference between strong low pressure and cold high-pressure systems, and Chinook winds developing across the front range and other eastern mountain ranges.

Reintroduced to Colorado more than 30 years ago, moose are thriving in many parts of the state. Unfortunately, almost every year hunters inadvertently shoot moose. During the last few years more than a dozen moose have been killed during each season by hunters who thought they were shooting elk. 

Elk hunters need to be sure to know the difference between these two ungulates. If a hunter without the proper license shoots a moose, the fine can be more than $1,000 and hunting privileges can be lost. 

October seems to be a good month for celebrating birthdays.

Week end before last, Vern and JoAnn Harris attended the 80th birthday celebration for Bill Frey in Holly.

Jim and Mary Ann Richardson and their granddaughter Melanie of Burlington, traveled to Littleton to help their other granddaughter Michelle Gibson celebrate her 40th birthday.  It was a double celebration as Michelle had just graduated and received her Mortician's license. Congratulations Michelle!

In making this change, you probably started with the small stuff. You turn the lights off when you’re not in the room, unplug devices that aren’t in use and adjust your thermostat regularly, but you can do so much more.

Using what it refers to as the best available science, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service completed in-depth species status assessments for the eastern group of the boreal toad, the Great Sand Dunes tiger beetle, and the Northern Rocky Mountains fisher, and determined all three species are not warranted for listing under the Endangered Species Act (ESA).

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Law Enforcement and Public Safety Assistant Director Heather Dugan says CPW is seeing more cases of Colorado hunters illegally using drones.

“The bottom line is, if it’s related to a hunt in any way, you can’t do it,” Dugan said. “For scouting, locating, anything. If they fly before they take an animal, they’re illegal. If they use the drone to locate an animal they may have shot and wounded, they’re illegal.”
