Warm and Dry Conditions for Colorado this Winter

As another La Nina weather pattern becomes a stronger possibility, forecasters with the Climate Prediction Center – part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which also oversee the National Weather Service – have revealed their thoughts about the coming winter season.

There is a 55 to 65 percent chance that La Nina conditions will develop, in which ocean waters become cooler than normal.

Kiowa County Responds to Citizen Letter of Concerns

Kiowa County recently received a letter from a citizen expressing a number of concerns about the county’s finances and current projects. The letter, along with the county’s response, appear below.

I am, respectfully, requesting that this letter be read into the next Kiowa County Commissioners' meeting minutes. There are several questions that beg answers for the Kiowa County Taxpayers.

SWAT Team Captures Man with Felony Warrants

The Weld County SWAT team has capture a man in Evans who had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Thursday morning, the Evans Police Department had been searching for Fernando Vasquez-Corral, 25, who was located at a home in the 2900 block of Glendale in Evans. Vasquez-Corral ran when he saw police, and barricaded himself inside his apartment. He refused to communicate with officers.

Healthy Child Clinic Coming to Fort Morgan

The Northeast Colorado Health Department is holding a healthy child clinic October 27 for children aged six months to five years..

Free screenings include vision, hearing, developmental, height, weight, social/emotional, speech and dental. Immunizations will also be available, but may have a cost associated.

The clinic will be held October 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Salud Family Health Center, located in the basement at 729 East Railroad Avenue in Fort Morgan. Anyone is welcome to participate, and appointments can be made by calling 970-867-4918.
