A new temporary registration permit will be issued by  five auto dealers and three county motor vehicle offices as part of a pilot program beginning May 23. All auto dealers and county motor vehicle offices will be issuing new permits by the end of June.

The most noticeable change to the new permit is the requirement for it to be placed on the rear of the vehicle where the permanent license plate is normally affixed.
