  • Eleven members of the Eads FFA left with Lance Jagers for the 74th National FFA Convention in Louisville Kentucky.

 

  • At 95% complete, harvest progress of corn for grain crop is currently 1% point ahead of last year’s crop and 7 points ahead of the 5-year average.

 

  • Wild Horse Roundup: The fire laddies were kept busy a few times this week, once at Polly Johnson and twice for Charles Oswald. Also heard there was a fire at a feed lot southeast of Kit Carson.

  • The Kiowa County Dump south of Eads will soon be restricted to daytime     use.

 

  • Two Arkansas men suspected of stealing 26 head of cattle in Kiowa County, were to be indicted in federal court in Nebraska.

 

  • A Hayride to the Lindholm farms in October was a highlight for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

 

  • Kit Carson News: Between Wed. and early Sat morning received between 10 & 12 inches of snow.

 

  • Towner Tales:  Hope that nobody missed the beautiful Northern Lights display in the night sky of Friday.

  • Potpourri: Some members of the Kiowa County edition of the Farm Bureau were very much upset with the Farm Bureau state manager Andy G. Kurtz praise of former Secretary of Agriculture Earl Butz

 

  • The Eads Town Board of Trustee approved building permit for the construction of a drive-in-restaurant in Eads and rejecting a liquor license ordinance.
