• Eads Fire Chief Gary Kiniston presented a comparison of equipment currently to the town’s fire truck versus what is recommended by the state. They were lacking in several areas.
• Michael Zimmerman, Eads Sophomore, was in a group of 75 students chosen from 458 applications from across the US to a summer adventure and expedition with Earthwatch.

40 Years Ago - March 16, 1984

• Six Plainview students, Barb Beaman, Michele Hopkins, Patrick Kelley, Paul Splitter, Sherry Teeter and Jo Dell Wilson, were selected to be member of the 1984 Arkansas Valley Junior High Honor Band.

• Property owners and ranchers of Baca, Bent, Kiowa, and Prowers counties wish to band together and advertise the offering of a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone found guilty of stealing or vandalizing personal property.
