Mike Beeson reported to the Town of Eads Board of Trustees, on the Beanpole Grant. The project had been funded and  access to fiber optics connection for high speed internet and potential video conferencing  for all participating entities within 60 days.

January 17, 1991


A pack of coyotes got into pens at Delmar Eikenberg's and the resulting panic killed two calves Eikenberg had weaned the day before.

January  9, 1976


ASCS Director, Rod Johnson reported over half of the approximately 900 individual farms in the county applied  for 1975 disaster payments for at least one crop under the  wheat and feed grain program.

January 19, 1916


Big auto race is being planned between G.W. France 140 Ford and 250 horse Buick owned by H.A. Long. "Doc" King will man the Buick while Sunday will be at the wheel of the Ford. The Race will take place south of town at the athletic park. Odds 2 to 1 on the Ford.
