Voting rights advocates are suing the state of Arizona over new regulations they say make it harder for some people to register and would block thousands of voters from the polls.

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Duane Russell Jackson, 71 of Kiowa, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2022, in the Capron Cemetery. 

Duane was born March 30, 1951, to Ernest and Orieta Jackson in Alva, Oklahoma, was called home on August 8, 2022, after a brief illness.

December 25, 1928 — July 29, 2022

Howard Walter Hobbs was born December 25, 1928, and passed away with his family by his side July 29, 2022. He spent 46 years of his life in Lamar.

The regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order on July 28, 2022; at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Donald Oswald. Chairman Oswald opened the meeting with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in Attendance:

Minutes: Robertson moved and Lening seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the July 14, 2022. Motion carried.
