Weekend Weather Outlook

While high temperatures will fluctuate, spring-like weather continues through the weekend in Kiowa County.

Friday’s high will be around 70, accompanied by 10 to 20 mile per hour north winds which will be strongest in the afternoon. There may be a few hours in the afternoon where conditions approach critical fire weather.

Saturday will be cooler, with highs in the low 60s and continuation of 10 to 20 mile per hour wind shifting to the south.

Sunday will be the warmest day of the week, with a high in the mid-70s, and winds will weaken slightly.

    Thirty six (36) Eads High School students and their advisor, Mr. Will Nelson, hosted their annual Dinner and Farmhand Worker Dinner Friday evening for nearly 250 people.

Congratulations to the Plainview Knowledge Bowl team. They took second place in class 1-A at the regional tournament in Lamar Friday. This qualifies them for the state tournament.

 

25 years

 

March 7, 1991

 

A dust storm blew into Kiowa County Tuesday as temperatures climbed into the 70s and a brisk wind sprang up. The highway from Lamar to Springfield reported as being closed.
