Western Colorado is starting to see big improvements in drought conditions.

The Colorado Department of Transportation, Colorado State Patrol and statewide law enforcement agencies are teaming up for heightened DUI enforcement this holiday season beginning the evening of December 7 and continuing through December 17.

Prairie Pines Assisted Living in Eads has announced the winners of its 2018 raffle.

The grand prize - $1,082.40 – was won by John Crowell. The $541.20 first prize went to John Negley, while Deby Courkamp won second prize, $324.72.

The raffle raised nearly $11,000 for the facility. Nearly 540 tickets were sold, with 20 percent of the $13,530 returned as prizes to 17 people.

Proceeds will be placed towards operating expenses supporting the facility’s residents.

Chocolate sold in Colorado and 19 other states has been recalled due to concerns about allergic reactions.
