Agriculture producers across 34 Colorado counties may now eligible for physical loss loans due to damages from fires and high winds that occurred this year between February 13 and April 19, as well as a blizzard and high winds that occurred April 13-14. The deadline to apply is January 9, 2019.
Producers in Baca, Chaffee, El Paso, Las Animas, Prowers, Pueblo and Washington counties – designated at primary damage areas - may be eligible for the low-interest loans if they suffered “severe physical losses” which can include buildings and livestock.
A celebration of life for longtime Wiley resident, Frederick A. Esgar will be held at 2:45 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Wiley United Methodist Church with Zach Esgar officiating. A small earthquake was recorded Sunday evening just across Colorado’s southern border with New Mexico
The quake, measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale, occurred just after 5:00 p.m. at a depth of about five miles beneath the surface according to the United States Geological Survey. It was centered 100 miles southwest of Pueblo in a sparsely populated area of New Mexico.
The USGS has not received any citizen reports of feeling the earthquake.
