For years now, Herb Collins has been helping Santa by donning the red and the beard and the tassels and waving to passing cars on Christmas Eve out at the Old Fort Road crossing. He takes a bag of candy along, in case anyone cares to stop, and he also takes his daughter Cindy along, because she’s always been his head elf. Cindy’s grown now and has helpers of her own, but this has been a daddy/daughter event for a long time and neither sees any reason to quit.

2015’s “The Force Awakens” breathed new life into the “Star Wars” saga. For years the franchise had slowly been undone by ill-received prequels, retouchings, and add-ons that made the once-great property look like a money-grubbing joke. “The Force Awakens” restored heart to the series, balance to the Force, if you will. Fans were excited about the new direction of the franchise and wondered where it would take them next.

Notice is hereby given that a meeting will be held on December 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kiowa County Courthouse Meeting Room, Eads, Colorado to consider a Resolution for Supplemental Budget and Appropriation for Kiowa County, Colorado for the year 2017. Additional revenue and unappropriated fund balances have allowed for additional unforeseen expenses in the following fund as follows:

It was another hard week for the County Line Rivals but with huge strides they made a strong showing in McClave on Friday night with a Tri Meet against Amarillo Boy’s Ranch and Cheyenne Wells, then again putting on their singlets (which they haven’t gotten their Rival singlets yet) and taking it one match at a time at the Holly Christmas Tournament.
