Warmup Starts the Week – Cold Returns Next Weekend
Sunday starts off cooler ahead of a few warm days before winter arrives – both on the calendar and in Colorado’s weather. Snow may accompany the start of the season.
Eastern Plains
Freezing drizzle is expected across much of northeast Colorado Sunday, while the southeast will see patchy fog clearing through the morning. Temperatures will be much cooler than Saturday, with most of the plains reaching only low 40s.
Alzheimer’s and the Holidays – Travel Tips
Holiday travel tips for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias
Traveling over the holiday season is stressful enough under ideal circumstances, but for 5.5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s (including 69,000 in Colorado) and their families, this can be a particularly challenging time.
While the symptoms of this progressive brain disease can sometimes make travel more difficult, it doesn’t mean families can’t travel with a loved one with dementia and participate in holiday festivities.
Tips - Wrapping up the Holiday Season Safely
Holiday lighting and decorations contribute to the splendor of the season but they can also significantly increase the risk of fires and electrical injuries if not used safely. The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFi) has put together a comprehensive list of holiday lighting and decoration safety tips and resources. You can view the complete list at www.esfi.org.
Home Country
There is a nighttime sweetness and hope that hovers over us this time of year here at home. This is a time for summing up and looking ahead … and a time for dreams.
And at night… ah, that’s the time, isn’t it? Outside it’s dark, December dark, and we’re inside and warm and cocooned up. The cold makes our world shrink, especially at night.
But we have our dreams.
