Earthquake in Southern Colorado Sunday

A small earthquake struck southern Colorado early Sunday morning.
The quake, measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale according to the United State Geological Survey, struck just before 3:00 a.m. It was located 26 miles east of San Luis in Costilla County, or 84 miles south of Pueblo, and occurred about three miles beneath the surface.
About 30 quakes have occurred in the state this year. Most of those earthquakes have struck in the western half of the state, including a series of 18 quakes over a 10-day period near Snowmass Village in Pitkin and Gunnison counties.

Crews Battle Three Fires in Western Colorado

Fire crews are fighting three fires under Red Flag conditions in northwestern Colorado.

More than 40 firefighters, five engines, four heavy air tankers, six single engine air tankers, and a helicopter are working the 500-acre Hunter Fire about 20 miles southwest of Meeker. Smoke from this fire was visible Saurday afternoon from the Colorado River corridor and Craig. The fire was reported Saturday and is likely a hold-over from lightning several days ago. Oil and gas infrastructure is in the area. Firefighters do not have a containment estimate.

But when the Delgado family invited him to the picnic, he accepted and bought some soda pop for the kids. Jaime Delgado spread the blanket out and his wife, Maria, opened the basket.
