Candidates Must Report Large Contributions Immediately
A campaign finance bill aimed at providing more transparency for school board races, which are held in odd years, has impacted those running in the 2018 election, including the numerous candidates for governor.
The Colorado General Assembly passed a bill in 2016 that requires contributions of $1,000 or more be disclosed within 24 hours starting 30 days prior to the election in an odd year. It also requires disclosure of certain spending on advertisements, billboards and direct mailing that mentions candidates.

Last weekend, Burl and Cathy Scherler and friends went to Estes Park to see the colors. They said it was really pretty up there. On their way home, they stopped in Denver to attend their grandson Brady's baseball game.

Kiowa County W.I.F.E. Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Kiowa County Women Involved in Farm Economics (WIFE) Chapter # 124 is participating in the First Annual National WIFE Pink Pumpkin Community Awareness Fundraiser Project. National WIFE President and Kiowa County WIFE member Kerry Froese and her family, from Cheraw, Colorado, grew the pink pumpkins and they are ready to harvest. The goal of the project is to deliver a pink pumpkin to community members that have fought the battle against breast cancer, is currently fighting, or to the family that has lost a loved one.
