According to recent studies, arthritis affects approximately one-third of all adult farm and ranch operations and is considered one of the leading causes of disability by customers of the USDA AgrAbility Project.  It tends to affect most ag industry workers in their hands, knees, and hips mainly because these are the joints that take the most pressure.

Johnny Dean Mays, 73, passed away on April 10, 2017 at his La Junta home. As per his request cremation has taken place and no services at this time.

69 Children Were Unbuckled

Last year, unbuckled fatalities accounted for nearly half of the passenger vehicle traffic deaths in Colorado. In response to particularly low seat belt use rates in rural areas, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), Colorado State Patrol (CSP) and local law enforcement agencies recently conducted Click It or Ticket heightened seat belt enforcement in rural counties across the state.

Directions

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) will host over 250 students from 12 southeastern Colorado school districts for the second annual Dream Big Event at Eads High School April 27.

The event will connect rural students with industry leaders and professors from Colorado’s top technology companies and universities in order to increase students’ exposure and interest in pursuing careers in STEM related fields through hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities.
