Thanksgiving Closures at Lamar Community College

Lamar Community College will be observing holiday hours next week for the Thanksgiving holiday. 

With the exception of the residence halls, LCC will be closed on both Thursday and Friday, November 24-25, in observance of Thanksgiving Day and a Governor’s holiday on the 25th.

Additional campus closures include the Tutoring Lab, Fitness Center, and Bookstore. 

The Tutoring Lab will be open regular hours on Sunday, November 20, after which it will be closed all week.  The Lab will reopen and resume regular hours starting Sunday, November 27.

Colorado Selected to Participate in Digital Driver License Pilot

Colorado’s Division of Motor Vehicles has been selected to participate in a pilot program to develop a smartphone-based credential that will serve as a secure digital version of the physical Colorado driver license.


This two-year program will be funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Participants include Gemalto, Inc., Colorado, Idaho, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Southeast Colorado Fishing Conditions – November 15

Arkansas River Headwaters
Upper Basin: Hayden Meadows is running cold and clear, with air temps dropping well below freezing most nights. As a result, the fishing on the upper end of the river is definitely slowing down. Anglers are having better success by moving downstream for warmer water and more active insects and fish. Current temperatures are in the low 40 degree range with water flow around 88 cfs.

LCC Booster Club hosts High School Night November 18

This Friday, November 18, will be High School Night at the Lamar Community College Wellness Center.  Admission to all three LCC games scheduled for that night will be free to anyone wearing area high school apparel.

The Wellness Center will be busy that afternoon and evening.  First, the women’s basketball team will tip off against the Northern New Mexico University JV team at 3:00pm.  The men’s JV team will play Northern New Mexico JV immediately after the women’s game at 5:00pm, followed by the varsity playing Frank Phillips College at 7:00pm.
