Kiowa County School District RE-1 will begin school on Wednesday, August 9th (Grades K-12). The following items will need to please be sent with your student on the first day of school:
Preschool
*First day of school, Monday, August14 th. Mrs. Williams will be providing you with more information concerning registration appointment times for the week prior.

If you ever wanted to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, your chance is coming as Colorado Parks and Wildlife hosts a free archery session.
CPW officers will provide the equipment and expertise at the session scheduled 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17. The session will be held at the agency work station in Buena Vista, at the corner of U.S. Highway 24 and DePaul Street.

A flash flood watch returns to southeast Colorado Sunday, covering an area similar to Saturday’s watch due to continued storms fueled by a strong annual monsoon moisture flow.

“That’s just nuts,” Doc said, “I know for a fact he won’t see 70 again.”
“True enough, Doc, but you know they aren’t letting him take the plane up by himself.”
“Thank goodness for that. But what in the world made him want to fly a plane?”
