LCC Basketball to Kick off Season with Lopes Madness Friday Night

Lamar Community College Basketball will host its second annual Lopes Madness this Friday, September 30, starting at 10:00pm in the LCC Wellness Center. This totally free event is a kick-off celebration to showcase this year’s teams and build some excitement for the coming season.

The night will include an introduction of the men’s and women’s teams, 3 point shot and dunk contests to highlight the team’s skills, and fan contests.  This will truly be an event that the whole family can enjoy.

October 5: French toast, sausage link, grape juice, mixed fruit, V-8, milk

October 6: Bagel sandwich, pears, orange juice, V-8, milk

Lunch

October 3: Barbeque ribs, buttered noodles, blueberries, milk, fruit and vegetable bar

October 4: Turkey wrap, cooked peas, watermelon, milk, fruit and vegetable bar

October 5: Chicken sandwich, pickles, cooked carrots, grapes, milk, fruit and vegetable bar

Weekend Weather Outlook – Fall Weather Continues

The second full weekend of autumn continues a mild temperature trend across the area.

Highs will be around 80 for the weekend, with overnight lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. There is a slight chance of showers late Friday night continuing into the early morning hours of Saturday.

Monday will be warmer and windy, with a high in the mid-80s. South winds of 10 to 15 miles-per-hour will start the day, increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon, continuing into the early evening. Showers and thunderstorms are possible.
