Permits go on sale Monday to cut your own Christmas tree in the San Isabel National Forest, while permits are already available in other forests across Colorado.
The Salida Ranger District of the San Isabel National Forest will be selling the permits through December 22 for $10 each, with a limit of two permits per family.
The United States Forest Services is hiring more than 900 temporary workers in the Rocky Mountain Region, which includes Colorado as well as Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming.
The seasonal jobs involve work in national forests as well as national grasslands in areas such as fire management, trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archaeology and administrative support.
Employers in Colorado added 1,400 nonfarm payroll jobs from September to October for a total of 2,659,000 jobs, according to the survey of business establishments. Private sector payroll jobs increased 4,300 and government decreased 2,900.
Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) will be holding a town hall meeting Monday in Pueblo. The meeting is scheduled to run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Pueblo Convention Center, 320 Central Main Street in Pueblo. Parking is available at the SRDA parking lot located off Alan Hammel between Union Avenue and Central Main Street.
Space will be limited, so those who would like to attend are encouraged to arrive early. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m.
The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on September 26, 2017 at 6:31 p.m. at the Bransgrove Building Meeting Room.
