Mary Ilene Eder was born September 26, 1920 in Lyndon, Kansas to Peter and Ora Walker and was the third of five children. Ilene died October 25, 2016 in Overland Park, Kansas while in hospice care. She is survived by her children, Terrance LaVerne Eder (Linda) of Eads, CO, Roger Walker Eder (Bonnie) of Riverton, WY, Marilyn Popejoy of Raytown, MO.
Colorado’s Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) begins accepting applications for its 2016/17 season on Tuesday, November 1.
LEAP is a 100-percent federally funded program administered by the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) that provides cash assistance to help Coloradans pay a portion of home heating costs during the winter months. The program pays the highest benefits to those with the highest heating bills and the lowest incomes by family size. Applicant income may not exceed 165 percent of the federal poverty level ($3,341 per month for a family of four).

Can you believe it's November already? Thanksgiving isn't far away and Christmas is just around the corner after that. We have certainly been having beautiful Fall weather but I suppose it will change before long, as it should. We actually started putting some of our Christmas decorations up. Much nicer to do it when it's warm and the ground isn't frozen.

Above-average temperatures continue across southeast Colorado this week.
Sunday will start off cloudy, gradually clearing after mid-morning. A high of 70 is expected, cooling to the upper 40s overnight.
Monday’s high will spike to the low 80s, before settling to the low 70s for the remainder of the week.
Overnight lows start with low 40s Monday night before drifting down to the low 30s by Wednesday, and rebounding to the mid-30s by Friday.
Winds through the week are expected to be in the 5 to 15 mile-per-hour range.
