Junior Livestock Sale Honors Colorado’s 4H & FFA Youth
The 53rdColorado’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Junior Livestock Sale at the Colorado State Fair has come to a close. According to preliminary totals, the 2016 sale accumulated approximately $524,700 from generous buyers supporting the state’s agricultural youth. This year also set the record sale for Grand Champion Market beef at $62,000 by Sam Brown & Family.

Parking Spaces. Defined by someone on the internet as ” a space where automobiles can be parked.” In a parking lot. In Pueblo. At Walmart. I find myself parking there quite frequently. Any time I feel the need for a really good challenge, I go park there.
Health Department Revises School Immunization Waiver Form
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has revised the non-medical immunization exemption form used by parents who do not want their children to receive state-required vaccinations.
The purpose of the waiver is to inform parents who choose not to vaccinate their children of the risks associated with various childhood diseases.
Project Learning Tree Celebrates 40th Anniversary in Colorado
This year, Project Learning Tree (PLT) – an award-winning program of the American Forest Foundation that applies the forest as “a window on the world” to educate PreK-12 and environmental educators – is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In Colorado, which was one of the first 10 states to initially adopt PLT, this celebration will be formally recognized with a one-day workshop on Sept. 17 at the Lone Star School in Otis, Colo., in the same location as the first Colorado PLT workshop in 1976.
