9:41 AM-Trespassing-Brandon, CO

  • Sergeant Murdock was dispatched to the 12000 block of CR 58 for a report of trespassing. The landowner stated that they did not want to press charges due to the subject being invited by the individual leasing the property. Murdock cleared the scene.

6:17 PM-Lockout-Eads, CO

  • Undersheriff Swanson responded to Cobblestone for a vehicle lockout.

Governor appoints Samuel S. Vigil to the 16th Judicial District Court

Colorado Governor Jared Polis has appointed Samuel S. Vigil to the 16th Judicial District Court.  The vacancy is created by the retirement of the Honorable Michael A. Schiferl, and is effective July 2, 2022.  

Vigil is a part-time Bent County Court Judge, a position he has held since 2013, and a part-time District Court Magistrate, a position he has held since 2020, both in the 16th Judicial District.

Resurfacing of US 50 between Pueblo and Avondale will begin June 13 

The Colorado Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Martin Marietta, will be resurfacing US Highway 50 between Mile Post 316.5 and MP 331. 

The project will start at the intersection of US 50 and Bonforte Boulevard in Pueblo and continue east on US 50 to Avondale Boulevard. 

Other improvements that will be done to the roadway include micro-surfacing, bridge work, guardrail replacement, ADA ramps, and possible slope paving.
