Board Meeting May 26, 2020

The Kiowa County Hospital District and County Board met in regular session on May 26, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. in a virtual meeting via Zoom.

District Board members present were: Mary Eikner, Sylvia Shields, and Meghan Buck. Absent: Cathryn Anderson and Priscilla Waggoner (called).

County Board members present were: Kevin Davis, Ken Flory, and Whitney Barnett. Absent: John Negley and Craig Kerfoot (called).

U.S. President Donald Trump is now urging people to wear masks to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus as cases continue to surge in the country.

In another effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus in the state, Colorado Governor Jared Polis has ordered restaurants to stop serving alcohol after 10:00 p.m. Bars were ordered closed in June.

Colorado schools now have guidance to follow from from state agencies about how to reopen for the 2020-21 school year.

Kiowa County School District RE-1 in Eads, Colorado, is awaiting guidance from the Department of Education as it plans for the 2020-21 school year.
