For most, the camping season ends on Labor Day when even the chance of cool weather sends them hibernating in motels until spring.
But I love fall, when the temperatures drop, the leaves turn color and the crowds at most state parks diminish. This is the perfect combination for some cold-weather camping.

Colorado hunters can expect good waterfowl hunting
Despite drought conditions throughout Colorado and the surrounding region, Colorado hunters should be able to find good waterfowl hunting opportunities during the 2018-19 seasons. Waterfowl hunting seasons in Colorado extend from September teal and Canada goose seasons to light goose conservation seasons ending in April.
Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site hosting speaker series
The Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site will be hosting aseries of speakers/educators throughout 2018 and 2019 to present sessions that will address American history, tribal histories, American Indian Law, and Native and Non-Native American perspectives of the historical context in which the Sand Creek Massacre took place.

United States Highlights
Commercial red meat production for the United States totaled 4.19 billion pounds in September, down 5 percent from the 4.41 billion pounds produced in September 2017.
Beef production, at 2.16 billion pounds, was 3 percent below the previous year. Cattle slaughter totaled 2.62 million head, down 3 percent from September 2017. The average live weight was down 1 pound from the previous year, at 1,358 pounds.
