Mrs. Doc watched the dancers swirl around the cleared hardwood floor of the Legion hall, and smiled to see her husband, Doc, waltzing with Ardis Fisher. But Mrs. Doc was never one to sit out a waltz, so she looked around at the menu.
Over in the corner, smiling and tapping his foot, was Pop Walker. Pop and several other residents of the Rest of Your Life retirement home were there to enjoy the dance and celebrate the end of summer. Pop has a hard time with his memory, these days, but always forgets things with a smile.
“Pop,” said Mrs. Doc, “how about a dance?”
Allen Lawrence Naugle

Allen Lawrence Naugle passed away October 12, 2018, in Aurora, Colorado. He was 74 years old. Allen was born in Greensburg, Kansas, July 27, 1944, to Robert and Ruth (Hills) Naugle. He was the third of five children, raised in the Stratford, Texas, and Karval, Colorado, areas, graduating from Karval High School.
Allen proudly served in the United States Navy from June 1964 to June 1968, which included two tours in Vietnam on the U.S.S Mahan.
Eldred "Lee" Bouldin

Visitation for Eldred "Lee" Bouldin will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Eads. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Praise Community Church, with burial following at the Eads Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the director of Brown Funeral Home.
The number of cattle and calves on feed for the slaughter market in Colorado feedlots with a capacity of 1,000 head or larger was estimated at 980,000 head as of October 1, 2018. The latest inventory was 9 percent above last month and 4 percent above the October 1, 2017 inventory.
Western and southeastern Colorado saw additional improvements in drought conditions over the past week.
In the west central area, Mesa County and northwest Montrose County moved from extreme to severe drought. Both counties were covered by extreme and exceptional conditions two weeks ago before the remnants of Hurricane Rosa brought welcome rains.
