Cheyenne Mountain and Lamar JV tied for first with 172 points and with both teams having the same number of champions it went down to a coin flip and Cheyenne Mountain won the flip. The Rivals scored 158.5 points for 3rd; Dumas scored 93 points; Holly with 89.5; Limon, 59.5; Ellicott, 50; Baca County, 42; La Junta, 23; Elizabeth, 22; Tribune-Greeley County, 12; Calhan, 11; and Stratton, 9.

J.D. Wilson
November 6, 1939 – January 18, 2019
J.D. was born November 6, 1939, at Liberal, Kansas, to Dewey and Janet (Sutton) Wilson. He passed away January 18, 2019 at his home in Sheridan Lake at the age of 79.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Steven Wilson, great-grandchild, Lynnox Yuhas, his parents, and his siblings, Ian Wilson, Ray Wilson, Winfred “Winnie” Wilson, Burl “Bud” Wilson and Murl Burrows.

After a quarter-century of preparing ballplayers for opportunities in Major League Baseball, the Lamar Community College baseball program is now seeing one of its coaches make the jump from the Lopes to a Major League Baseball organization.
Assistant coach Eric Dorton, who also played one season for LCC, was hired by the Texas Rangers as a hitting coach for their rookie and instructional league teams.
"It is a dream come true," Dorton said.
The Colorado Conservation Tillage Association was recognized at the 27th Annual National No-Tillage Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana as the recipient of the No-Till Innovator Award in the Organizations category for 2019.
With members in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, CCTA strives to serve the conservation and no-till producers of the High Plains. The nonprofit provides education on systems that reduce soil erosion, conserve soil moisture, build organic matter, and result in greater profit for farm operations.
