Bridges in parts of Colorado will receive needed upgrades using funds from the Federal Highway Administration.

Changes have been made for the Eads schools sports schedule for September 6.

• There will not be a junior high volleyball game.
• High school volleyball will start at 5:00 p.m. with Varsity only.
• Junior high football will start at 4:00 p.m.
• High school football will start at 7:00 p.m. as previously scheduled.

One area of concern is a batch of showers and thunderstorms traveling from the eastern Gulf of Mexico to the central areas of the Gulf into early week.

Southeast U.S. coastal states are still at risk from Category 5 Hurricane Dorian. Residents should heed warnings and instructions from officials.

Calling Hurricane Dorian "a life-threatening situation," the National Hurricane Center warned residents of the Abacos Island to stay in their shelters as the Category 5 storm pummeled the Bahamas Sunday afternoon.

"Do not venture out into the eye if it passes over your location," the hurricane center said in a 4 p.m. advisory.

Small quakes are common in the southern Colorado area.

Danny William McCann, 62, of Marbleton, Wyoming, passed away at his home Tuesday, August 20, 2019, following several years of declining health issues.

Danny was born February 12, 1957, in Rawlins, Wyoming, to Donald and Phyllis McCann. He grew up and attended schools in Rawlins, and graduated from Rawlins High School in 1975.
