Colorado Parks and Wildlife has awarded $400,000 to eight Fishing is Fun projects, all geared to improve angling opportunities in the state of Colorado. The approved projects include improved angler access, habitat improvement, new piers and new ponds.

The Kiowa County Commissioner’s regular meeting was called to order on July 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Richard Scott. Scott opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Those in attendance:

Scott moved and Oswald seconded the motion to approve the minutes as presented. Motion carried.

One horse residing in Larimer County has been diagnosed with West Nile Virus; this is Colorado's first confirmed case of WNV in a horse in 2018.  This index case was diagnosed by Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Fort Collins on August 15, 2018.
