County Line Rivals Sending 7 Wrestlers to State Tournament

If it was easy, everyone would do it!! Wrestling is not for the weak at heart and you must wear your guts on your shirtsleeves, you must give 110% to be satisfied with your performance and you must know that at the end of every match there is only one hand that gets raise.  The performance the County Line Rivals put on this weekend at Regionals was exceptional.  Each of these fine athletes came together and managed to pull off the Regional Championship in the Class 2A Region 2 tournament held in Sanford this past weekend.

Death Notice - John Holder

John (Johnny) Holter

June 3, 1934 – February 14, 2018

John B. Holter, 83 of Las Animas passed away on February 14, 2018 at the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo. He was born on June 3, 1934 in Burlington. Funeral arrangements are pending.

Peacock – Larsen Funeral Home of La Junta is in charge of arrangements.

Local Company Acquiring Lamar and La Junta Radio Stations

Cherry Creek Media, which owns 920 KLMR-AM and 93.5 KLMR-FM in Lamar, along with 1400KBLJ-AM and 92.1 KTHN-FM in La Junta, will be transferring the stations to 25-7 Media, Inc. according to an announcement made Monday.

25-7 Media is based in Lamar, with Aaron Leiker serving as President and General Manager of the company. Leiker was raised in nearby Holly and started his radio career while in high school in Lamar. He later graduated from Kansas State University with an emphasis in broadcast management.

Movie Review - Fifty Shades Freed

I don’t blame the birds for chirping or the fish for swimming. I don’t blame February for being cold or a romantic restaurant for being booked up on Valentine’s Day. So I can’t say I blame the third and final “Fifty Shades” movie for being awful. Of course it’s awful. That’s what these movies do, they spend two hours being awful. There’s no pleasant surprise here, but there’s not really an unpleasant surprise either. The best thing I can say about this movie is that it isn’t like “Boo!
