Before I start my article, I wanted to tell everyone that we are having an 80th birthday celebration for Dick Scott on October 14,2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the TOWNER COMMUNITY HALL. The ad last week said at the American Legion Hall in Eads, but that has been changed to Towner. Please pass the word around to friends about the change in venue. Casual attire and no gifts please.
Hickenlooper Orders Flags Lowered to Honor Las Vegas Victims
Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper ordered flags be lowered to half-staff immediately to honor the victims of the attack in Las Vegas and as proclaimed by President Donald Trump. Flags should be lowered until Friday, October 6, at sunset.

Mass Shooting Leaves Dozens Dead in Las Vegas
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and other agencies are investigating a mass shooting that took place overnight during the Route 91 Harvest country music festival near the Mandalay Bay hotel.
Calls about shots being fired in the direction of the concert area started coming in Sunday at 10:08 p.m.
