A celebration of life for longtime Kit Carson resident, Jane Borns will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2018, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Kit Carson with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Interment will follow at the Kit Carson Cemetery. 

Visitation for Jane will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  Sunday, October 7, 2018, at the Peacock Family Chapel and Monday, October 8, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. 

An organization sending mailers to Coloradans encouraging them to register for the November 6 general election is contacting already registered voters, causing anger and confusion.

The Secretary of State's office has heard from a number of voters who have received a letter from "BeRegistered," prompting Deputy Secretary of State Suzanne Staiert to contact the organization.

The Lamar Community College Rodeo team will host its annual Antelope Stampede October 5 through 7 at the Prowers County Sand & Sage Fairgrounds.  

Fourteen teams from throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska will compete over three days with performances at 6:00 p.m. Friday, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, and 11:00 a.m. Sunday.
