The Higher seed will be the home team throughout the tournament and wear white. Each team will retain their original seeding throughout the tournament.

Weather Advisory Cancelled, Warm Up Ahead

After more than a day of ice and snow, the National Weather Service converted a winter storm warning in Kiowa County to a winter weather advisory, which was then cancelled Monday morning.

A layer of ice accumulated Saturday night into Sunday as freezing rain fell in the area. Rain continued periodically until later in the afternoon before temperatures dropped and a layer of snow was added on top of the ice.

Certainly been having a mix of weather lately. Sure glad we didn't get the terrible winds they had up along I-25. The ice this morning wasn't pleasant, but we do need the moisture.

Our communities would like to extend their condolences to the family of Cora Coffman, who lost her sister Cathy, this past week. Cathy lived in Illinois, but grew up in the Sheridan Lake area.

USDA Announces $252 Million Available for Regional Conservation Partnership Program

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is inviting potential conservation partners, including private industry, non-government organizations, Indian tribes, state and local governments, water districts, and universities to submit project applications for federal funding through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).

Poached Buck Found in Northwest Grand Junction Tuesday

Colorado Parks and Wildlife authorities are asking the public for help identifying the person responsible for illegally killing a mule deer buck in northwest Grand Junction Tuesday evening.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., CPW officers discovered the dead buck shot and left to waste in a field near the intersection of 24 Road and K Road. They add the poacher did not attempt to salvage the meat and left the antlers on the animal.
