How about those Broncos?  It's a good thing the Defense was playing well!!

Can you believe it's November already?  Thanksgiving isn't far away and Christmas is just around the corner after that.  We have certainly been having beautiful Fall weather but I suppose it will change before long, as it should.  We actually started putting some of our Christmas decorations up.  Much nicer to do it when it's warm and the ground isn't frozen.

The chorus of one of my favorite songs: “ God Bless America, Land that I love, Stand beside her and Guide her through the night with the light from above,  From the mountains to the Prairies, to the Oceans white with foam.  God Bless America, My Home sweet home.”   Irving Berlin  1940’s

Here’s to Your Mental Wellness!

by Connie Brase, MA

As Agricultural people we are dependent on Mother Nature’s good graces. When that doesn’t come along, we have frustration that we can’t control the weather, constant concern about our crops and livestock, and financial worries. It’s a vicious cycle: no rain=no crops; no crop=no cash for family; no rain=no grass; no grass=no feed for livestock; no feed for livestock=no cash for family. It’s been shown that agricultural dollars bounce around a community seven times—that’s seven other businesses and

organizations that are also affected.

Home Country

I think there must be autumnal reasons for Halloween being hued in orange and black. It’s a fun time, a magic evening if you’re a kid, and if you’re a grandpa-type guy, like me, who gets to hand out the goodies.

But the colors of this sweet evening celebration are orange and black, and so is October. In another week or so, our deciduous trees will stand like skeletons against the gray skies of winter, but now we have the orange and black of fall.

Lakewood Man Wins Nearly $10 Million in Lotto

Greg M. from Lakewood has played Lotto every week for years, but nearly $10 million later, he finally knows to Expect the Unexpected.

He bought his $9,913,068 winning Lotto ticket from the 7-Eleven store at West Alameda and Garrison in Lakewood for the drawing on Wednesday, October 19.

His ticket matched all six lucky numbers: 3-4-5-9-14-36. The grand prize began at $1 million and kept growing for nearly six months.

Greg plans on taking his mom on an Alaskan cruise, buying a new car, and going to a few of the Broncos away games.
