East End Events

I guess that ole' man winter finally decided to make an appearance in our area.  It has been near blizzard conditions since around 1:00 p.m. today.  About everyone I called, didn't have any news and was glad to be inside and staying warm.

All of the outdoor Christmas decorations are put away for another year.  Now we have moved on into the next events of our life.  We are having babies (goats that is).  We had a set of triplets Thursday - they are so cute - but like all things, they outgrow that.

Last week Pastor Russell Parker and pianist, Anetta Maxcy led the Weisbrod Chapel-Church. The pastors of Kiowa County take turns each Sunday to bring the Word and music to residents and sometimes, when the C.N.A.s have time, they help residents hold hymn books to sing.

It was strange, Doc thought. All these years. All these people. It still hurts.

Old Tom had died around midnight, and Doc didn’t get more than an hour’s sleep since then. Just before he went, Tom reached out and gripped Doc’s hand and thanked him for everything. He was smiling when he went.
