Doris Faye Forsyth

(October 17, 1926 - July 25, 2017)

Doris Faye Forsyth (née Reed) aged 90, passed away peacefully in Tacoma, Washington, on July 25, 2017 after a brief hospitalization. Doris was born on October 17, 1926 in Las Animas, Colorado, the daughter of Prentice Leslie Reed and Mary Myrel Reed (née Starr).

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

After a day that saw reports of heavy rain, flooding and two-inch hail in parts of northern Colorado, along with at least one tornado warning in Washington county, severe thunderstorm potential will extend to all the eastern border counties Sunday.

Harvesting a deer or elk in the wrong Game Management Unit is not only illegal, it can be very expensive. Consider the experience of an Oklahoma couple hunting in southwest Colorado.

A Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer drove into their camp late one morning during the first rifle season. When he asked how the hunt was going the husband explained that they had each killed a cow about a mile away from their camp.

The officer congratulated them and then asked to see their licenses. After looking at the licenses he asked exactly where they'd hunted.

Desdemona died sometime in the night. Aunt Ada had had the cat since she was a tiny kitten, and she was naturally heartbroken. So was Boots, Desdemona’s partner in crime and play and food and everything else that makes life worthwhile for two old cats.

Through her tears, Aunt Ada wondered if she could’ve noticed something or had done something differently that would have given Desdemona back to her for a while longer, but there just wasn’t anything. The cat had looked good at bedtime, and was gone before the sun came up.
