Appointments Announced for State Ag Commission

The State Agricultural Commission formulates policy with respect to the management of the Department of Agriculture. The Commission also advises and makes recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly.

For a term expiring March 1, 2019: Rebecca Lynn Larson of Longmont, an Unaffiliated, from the Second Agricultural District to serve as a member from the State at-large, and occasioned by the resignation of Susan Kay Petrocco of Brighton, appointed.

Summer’s Here - Hot Days Ahead

Most of Colorado will remain dry and hot Sunday, though mountain areas can expect to see isolated thunderstorms. Limited relief from the heat is expected later in the week.

Eastern Colorado

Temperatures will remain above the seasonal average Sunday, with most areas in the mid-90s and above. Lamar will be the hot spot for the southeast, with a high of 97 expected. Eads trails only slightly with a high of 95. Las Animas and El Paso counties will reach the upper 80s.

Windy Wilson was on the prowl, this beautiful Independence Day morning, searching the neighborhood for something to do for others. He decided to let his weekly day helping others come on the Fourth this week, because he was feeling very American.

Let’s see … he thought … I can circumlocute over to Mrs. Hennessey’s and see if her flower garden needs weeding. She’s got very close veins and the sugar diabeets, and getting around ain’t easy.

  • The Eads Babe Ruth team placed first in league play and were undefeated with a 12-0 record.

 

  • Plainview student Chris Stum accepted a Leadership Scholarship to attend Fort Lewis College. Leadership Scholarship recipients’ receive 1 year in state tuition credited to their tuition bill.
