When Windy walked into the Mule Barn during that cold snap last week, we knew he was getting frantic for an audience. He has a hard time getting us to listen to his version of history, his notions of what was going on now, and his prognostications of the future of mankind.
But it was cold, and sitting out on the bench and ambushing listeners didn’t work too well right now for Windy Wilson, so here he came. We gave each other the wink and dragged out a chair for him.

Stephen Paul Anderson, 27, of Arvada, was sentenced this week by U.S. District Court Judge Christine M. Arguello to serve one year in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release for the manufacture of a schedule I controlled substance and the unlawful use of a communications facility, Acting U.S. Attorney Bob Troyer and U.S. Postal Inspector in Charge Craig Goldberg announced. Anderson, who appeared at the sentencing hearing free on bond, was ordered to report to a facility designated by the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

A former Elbert County Sheriff’s Office deputy is the subject of a nation-wide arrest warrant and is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in Colorado’s 18th Judicial District. The charges stem from a wildlife poaching incident that occurred near the town of Elbert late last year.

The “Fifty Shades” franchise is commercially successful but critically despised. I’ve heard all manner of nasty things said about the books, and 2015’s “Fifty Shades of Grey” tied for Worst Picture at the Razzies. “Fifty Shades Darker” is no redeemer, I assure you. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the series likes the abuse it takes from people with good taste.
