The regular meeting of the Kiowa County Commissioners was called to order by Chairman, Richard Scott on January 12, 2016 at 9:00 am.  Scott opened with a prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.  Those attending were:

Snow days.  Aren’t they great?  I can’t say I remember many as a kid, but I’m pretty sure I like them more at my age now than I did then. 

I do, however, remember a few when I was too old for school, but a bit younger than I am now.  My memory may be failing me, and if it is, I’m sure someone will correct me….

Lila Ann May

On January 28, 2016 the Lord Jesus called Lila Ann May to share His glory in heaven.  Lila was born October 10, 1929 to Dee Andrew and Mamie Anna Blooding in Eads, Colorado where she went to school.  In 1946 she married Harold Kregar and was blessed with five children.

      How about that Bronco game on Sunday?  They came to play didn't they?  Their defense was amazing and the whole team stepped up whenever they needed to.  They kept Brady off balance most of the game.  Looking forward to the Super Bowl - GO BRONCOS!!

     Last Saturday, Layton Hopkins and the boys from his class at school celebrated his 7th birthday at the Bowling Alley in Tribune. Happy Birthday Layton!

Aunt Liz Hulteen was joyful when she told me that her niece, Lacy and J.D. Van Campen had given birth to their second child, a little girl.  Her name is Tess LaNae Van Campen who was born in La Junta on January 25^th.  She has been welcomed to their home by her big brother, Wyatt.  The Adamson family is glad they moved back “home” from their jobs in Nebraska.

Strasburg Tournament

Results from the Strasburg Tournament are as follows:

145 pounds – Seth Splitter won by pin over Nathan Foos from Burlington in 1:13; won by pin over Patrick Roth from Byers in 1:05; won by pin over Dylan Holeman from Merino in 1:47; and lost by decision in overtime to Toby Grinnan from Burlington, 7-9.  Splitter finished the tournament in 2^nd place.
