Lamar Rotary and Prowers County Rotaract members are working hard to prepare for an exceptional family event, our “Rotary Kids’ Christmas,” on Saturday, December 17^th at 10:00 a – 3:00 p.  The adventure will begin with a ride through the Enchanted Forest (Beech & Main east of the Train Depot) then continue at the Shore Arts Center (117 N. Main Street).  Starting with a visit and photo with Santa, there will be multiple activities appealing to kids and families.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has ordered flags be flown at half-staff on all public buildings statewide beginning immediately until sunset on the day of interment, in honor of John Glenn, and as proclaimed by President Barack Obama.

After days of below-freezing temperatures, the weekend may seem closer to a tropical paradise.

Mostly sunny skies and a high near 40 are expected Friday, with an overnight low dropping to the mid-teens.

Saturday will be the warmest day over the coming week, with the high reaching 50 before dropping to the mid-20s at night.

Look for mid-40s Sunday and Monday, with lows in the upper teens.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

Lamar Community College’s fall semester is quickly coming to a close and everyone is looking forward to the holidays.  The LCC campus will be starting Saturday, December 24, 2015, and will reopen on Tuesday, January 3, 2016, so that faculty and staff can spend time with their families.

Certain departments on campus will have additional closures including the Bookstore, Tutoring Lab, Library, and Fitness Center.  The Bookstore will be closed starting December 21 and the Library will close on December 22.  Both will reopen with the rest of campus on January 3.
